My name is Sarah and I am the owner/operator Shabby Bliss, LLC, a quaint little shoppe nestled into the beautiful Iowa countryside, on the very farm where I was raised!

What began as an occasional shopping experience out of my garage has blossomed into a unique shopping experience. The shoppe is full of repurposed, upcycled and handmade items ranging from home decor to wearables. I often boast about the items being one-of-a-kind because they are. That is one thing that sets Shabby Bliss apart from other shops in this area.

In April of 2011 I was working full-time in a dead-end high-stress job. It became too much and I needed something to feed my soul. The decision to quit that job was easy, as was the decision to start my own business. You see, re-purposing and junking have always been a way of life for me – make do with what you’ve got. I heard that phrase several times throughout my childhood …. and so this amazing journey began! I have been blessed to have the opportunity to do what I love doing …. creating pieces from what most would consider junk.

And I am doubly blessed to have my youngest daughter along for the ride! Jacque joined me several years ago and we attended many shows together. Oh what fun we’ve had! It has been a blast teaching her the ways of junking and she caught on fast! It wasn’t long before she was noticing items in alleys and along the roadways … she is always keeping her eyes peeled for our next project. She now works along side me in the shoppe, as does my adorable granddaughter, Esther and handsome grandson, Angus!
